The winner of the International Competition Classic Violin Olympus, Haik Kazazyan, appears alongside the Neue Philharmonie Hamburg under the direction of Martin Panteleev. The evening brings together virtuosic solo artistry and symphonic depth, creating a compelling arc between contemporary musical language and Romantic mastery. At the center of the program is the Violin Concerto by Alexey Shor—a work distinguished by its immediate expressiveness and melodic accessibility. Shor’s music combines neoclassical clarity with warm, richly colored harmonies, presenting the soloist with both technical and interpretative challenges. In Kazazyan’s interpretation, the concerto unfolds its full emotional spectrum, ranging from lyrical intimacy to dazzling virtuosity. The second half of the evening features Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 2, a work of profound inner cohesion and overwhelming emotional depth. Often referred to as Brahms’s “Pastoral,” the symphony blends radiant soundscapes with powerful drama and monumental climaxes. Under the baton of Martin Panteleev, the subtle balance between lyrical warmth and structural rigor comes vividly to life. In this concert, solo brilliance, orchestral richness, and stylistic diversity come together in an impressive and deeply engaging musical experience.
